The Staff Pastor Parish Relations committee would like to welcome Linda Rogers into her new position of Church Secretary. Linda has been a life-long member of our church and will be a welcome addition to our staff. Please join me in welcoming Linda and extending our good wishes to her in this new position. Welcome Linda.

The Staff Pastor Parish Relations committee would also like to truly thank Sandie Bichler for her efforts this last year as our Church Secretary. Sandie came out of retirement to help us get the church office back into shape and ease some of the workload from Pastor Nola. Sandie has been a pleasure to work and will be missed (again). Sandie will be working with Linda to show her “the ropes” over the next couple of weeks.

Thank you so much Sandie for your commitment and dedication to Sarah Jane.

Egypt – Joseph’s Journey from Prison to Palace

Participation in Summer Fun Week has exceeded our expectations this year. We planned for 40 participants and have had close to 50 children who have participated. It is all possible because of the grace of God and the many adult and youth volunteers who have stepped up to help from Boulevard and Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Churches. Pastor Tony and I thank all the kitchen staff, shopkeepers, costume makers, family leaders, registration team members, activity leaders, drama team members, and youth assistants for a job well done.
You’ll explore authentic Marketplace shops, visit Joseph, take part in games, sing & dance to lively Bible songs, and sample tasty tidbits as you discover more about how God was with Joseph in good times and bad. These experiences make God’s Word come alive with new meaning for all who participate!

We need adult volunteers to be Family Leaders, Shopkeepers, Game leaders, Registration staff, Kitchen staff, and Drama team members. We need youth volunteers (grade 7-12) to be family aides and shop assistants. You can register to volunteer or participate by going to www.sjjumc.com and clicking on the Summer Fun tab near the top left of the page. If you don’t have internet access you can pick up a form at the back of the sanctuary or call the church (797-3938).

Summer Fun Week is sponsored by Boulevard United Methodist Church and Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church.

We are limited to the number of garbage containers we put out to the curb and find it hard to get rid of the following items.
Please do not send:
Large furniture of any kind; exercise equipment; magazines; torn, stained clothing – If you wouldn’t give it to a family member – please don’t sent it to the sale; light fixtures. Small appliances should be in working order.
We need bakers!! Rose McConnell will be in charge of the Bake Sale this year. You may bring your “goodies” anytime on Thursday. Call her at 797-9073 if you are willing to help her.
We also need brown grocery bags for our “Bag Sale” on Saturday.
Our Rummage and Bake Sales are our main fund raisers which enable us to do our mission work.
Also, The Mary Martha Sunday School Class has made a donation to the Lord’s Table in memory of Frances Dickey. Fran was a faithful member of the class.
